The brief
Building on the East Coast of Tasmania while living in Melbourne is a test of trust and communication. The brief was a custom home that could be delivered remotely, without the owners on site each week.
The build
Designed with Maguire Devine Architects, Newave leaned on the open-book process and clear, constant communication that let interstate owners stay across every decision from afar — coastal detailing and considered planning included.

“The process of building a new home on the East coast of Tasmania, whilst living in Melbourne, was a mammoth task. After much research, I put together a list of potential builders for our Architect Dan at Maguire Devine. On that list was Zanetto Builders, an award winning Launceston builder.
Kyle is a young and lively entrepreneur who loves with a passion, the East Coast of Tasmania. He worked tirelessly with us to get our project within budget. His technical expertise is second to none. He has developed a philosophy based around relationships — "trust, honesty, respect and clarity" — evident in all his relationships, whether with clients, architects, employees and tradespeople.”
“Our overall build experience with Zanetto builders was good. We paid for the architects to liaise with Zanetto during the build process as we were still in Melbourne at the time. Most communication was via the architect but we were also kept up to date with regular Instagram posts from the main builder on site.
The build cost came in very close to the quote. The build quality is very good and the defects list were handled professionally. The trades that we met were all skilled, courteous and polite. The estimated timeline was very close — we completed only about 3 weeks after the predicted handover date.
If we could afford to build again, we wouldn't hesitate to use Zanetto Builders.”
